Fostering is just one of a number of care options that offers children a home when they are unable to live with their birth family. Foster families look after around 80 percent of all children in care; providing them with the stability and security they need.
Fostering offers these children a safe and supportive home, within a caring family home environment. There are many reasons why some children need foster care. Sometimes, it is because of a parents illness, or a problem within the family, where the welfare of the child is at risk. Some foster children in the West Midlands may have witnessed domestic violence or drug and alcohol misuse, whereas others may have been abused or neglected. Our approved foster carers work with us to care for these children.
